Grant Me Patient Lord

Grant me patience

when life seems too rough

When tempers flare

and anger starts to rise,

And when I think that

I have had enough

Help me to see things

through another's eyes

Grant me tolorance

for different views,

For those with whom

I don't aways agree.

Just when I start

to argue or accuse,

Help me to know the

wrong one might be me.

Grant me sympathy

and understanding

When others come to me

in need of caring;

Instead of disapproving

and demanding,

Help me to be

compassionate and sharing

Grant me humbleness

when I'm proud,

Swift guidence when

I start to go astray,

The strength to rise

above the madding crowd,

And merciful forgiveness

when I pray.

Words To Be Heed

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be (possibly your roommate, neighbor, professor, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger), but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things. Make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen.

Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you. You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.

Most importantly, if you love someone tell them, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store. And learn a lesson in life each day you live.

God says: I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

LETTING GO

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for some else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, it is the realization that I can't control another. To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means that outcome is not in my hands. To let go is not to try to change or blame another, I can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about. To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being. To let go is not to be in the middle arranging outcomes, but to allow others to effect their own outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality. To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment. To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone, but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.

TO LET GO IS TO FEAR LESS AND LOVE MORE.

A PURPOSE

We all have some kind of purpose on this earth, It's not to hurt people or tell them their worth. Everyone was put here with an equal chance, Take a look around you, take a good long glance.

Some were meant to heal, and some to teach, Some are used to build, and some to reach. You may not know your purpose just yet, God will tell you, when he knows you are set.

Don't rush your fate, it has already been planned. And God will always be there to lend a helping hand. You will go through times that are really rough, But you will always have someone, when the going gets tough.

Don't judge others, for when you do, There is always someone else, judging you. Think about things before they are said, Say your prayers before going off to bed.

Take time just to sit, and observe all things, A flower and it's petals, or a bird and it's wings. For when you just look at what is around, A new aspect on life could be what you have found.

Live for today, live one day at a time. Live for yourself, and for God, that's no crime. For when you do all these things to make your life great, You will find your own way to the pearly white gate.

Amazing Grace!

Amazing Grace How Sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me Today my heart sings out with joy My Savior has set me free.

I've lived a life so filled with pain A life so filled with sin At first I didn't hear him When he said "child let me in".

In bondage to a life of sin I wanted to be free At last my heart in great despair Cried "Oh God please help me".

At once a peace I can't explain I'll never understand Why he reached out to me today And whispered "take my hand".

"The road ahead I'll walk with you I'll help you bear the pain. The trials ahead you must endure Your tears will fall like rain.

I died for you my precious child Now your cross you must bear. Just remember when you start to fall Reach out your hand, I'm there."

The road I've paved is hard to walk I've stumbled on the way. But His gentle hands always pick me up And guide me through the day.

Some day my road He'll pave with gold Through tears I clearly see When He touched my heart He took all my sins To the cross on Calvary.

DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggresive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become bitter or vain, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievments as well as your plans. Keep interest in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is perennial as the grass...Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, To be understood as to understand, To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive, It is pardoning that we are pardoned, It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
